No idea where the image with Haider is but that was the year that I was the President of the Swiss Textiles Award and he won the 100,000 EUROS Award and Raf Simons came on stage to hand over the crown that he'd won in 2003…I just unearthed this image that had been kept hidden for a decade because way back then no one knew what Raf looked like so we kept it a secret. That was 2003 and the Swiss Textile Award was the beginning of great things for both of them, thanks in great part to the work of Robb Young who turned the competition around on its ears and took it from provencial to international in one fell swoop. That was at a time when 100,000 EUROS was the biggest prize in fashion, it nolonger exists and the prizes have tripled since then.
