BEIJING RECAP – DAY 2 (PART 2 OF 2) – THANK YOU TSINGHUA AND I.T. FOR THE EXPERIENCE..AND THE BEST HOST…YVETTE TANG

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I will leave day 3 and 4 for tomorrow. A few more images from my whirlwind trip to Beijing as a guest of Tsinghua and I.T. with the best host, Yvette Tang who brought with her the young Chinese Director, Flora Lau. I am desperate to see her film Bends…first time film maker screened Bends in the Official Selection Un Certain Regard and was invited to spend October – February at the Cannes in Paris residence for first or 2nd time filmmakers. Before this week I did not even know there was a Cannes residence in Paris, did you?

First image is me with 'the boy from Beijing' our driver, anyone that knows me knows that my definition for luxury is a 24/7 driver. Later I'll find his baby photo you will love it.Second image is our welcome dinner, first time to meet the powerful and adorable fashion queen, Mimi Tang in her leopard top. Actually we met sometime before 97, probably 95, in Paris chez Joyce Ma at one of our JOYCE meetings on rue Conde.

We were a bit surprised to find gambling going on inside the entry gates of the Temple of Heaven.

Later,

Diane
