My birthday present from Simone Valsecchi. By Glenn Belverio

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Simone Valsecchi, the Lake Como-based artist, designer and vintage-fashion collector, gave me one of his original artworks as a birthday gift on Saturday night.

It's called the Temptation of Saint Anthony. It features a collar from a garment made in 1910 and a one-of-a-kind photo (there's no negative) of the artist with a mask by Alexander McQueen.

"For the Saint, the temptations are between riches and luxury," he tells me. I can relate, doll! I will need to find a special place for this in my Mao Room.
