Dear Shaded Viewers,
The recent work of Satch Hoyt was created while he was on Headlands Art Residency in Sausalito, California. The red and blue triple Spinnisters are partially executed by spinning D J style vinyl albums on paper.
The photo of Satch and I was taken a few years ago after one of his concerts where Melvin Van Peebles was the opening act and I asked Satch to introduce him to me. I wanted him for ASVOFF , Melvin gave me his phone number in Paris but it never worked out. None the less it was great to meet him. I met Satch a little over 20 years ago. During that time he lived in Paris, then NYC and currently in Berlin.
