SHORT FILM SYNOPSIS:
I myself have always stood in the awe of the camera. I recognize it for the instrument it is, part Stradivarius, part scalpel. – Irving Penn Presented by Vogue Italia, Scalpel/Stadivarius features live performance by violinist Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire, The Bell Orchestre) who composed the score for the film, & model Meghan Collison (Next NY). It is a piece of dueling sounds and visuals, where two subjects are reduced to their simplest elements. Where the body itself is obscured, flattened, blocked and abstracted.
