FILM SYNOPSIS:

It was as if the staircase, as solemn and distinguished as the grand Parisian hotel pariculier in which it stood witness to generations of comings and goings, might descend forever, or as far as she required in order to punctuate her entrance. She became who she was to become as she strode across that threshold, the effect of her dignity and elegance building with every step. (excerpt from the Manifesto)

DIRECTOR’S BIO:

Inez (Amsterdam, 1963) and Vinoodh (Amsterdam, 1961) have been working together since 1986. In the early 1990s, they counted among the first practitioners to use digital-imaging technology as a creative medium. They developed a powerful aesthetic vocabulary oscillating between fascination and repulsion, and are among the very few artists who have successfully crossed the line separating fashion from art.
