Valerio Mezzanotti in the spirit of the project

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The project SeeMe is an iniitative that originates with the luxury industry, it is not a charity it is a sustainable action that puts Tunisian women that have been abused back into the work force and gives them a way to earn a living, learn a trade and to gain back some self respect. Most of these women have been rejected by their families and suffered sexual abuse and violence. The silver heart is made by hand using a technique of hammering . This is a job that in their country was not considered woman's work. They learn that there are lots of ways that they can support themselves and this is one of them. Each piece is unique as it is hand made. The idea is to replace a chain of violence with a chain of love. The first shop that bought the silver hearts was Luisaviaroma. You can find the hearts as well at Colette,  Galeries Lafayette, Penelope and Harvey Nichols, among other multi-brand stores. Think about it, by buying a silver heart you are showing that you have a heart.

Later,

Diane
