Dear Shaded Viewers,
If you’re in the market for a mask or a nifty eye patch, look no further: Andreas Eberharter has created jewelry and accessories for the likes of Milla Jovovich, Lady Gaga, Kiera Chaplin and Lindsay Lohan with his brand AND_i. For this catwalk at MQ Vienna Fashion Week, he collaborated with deisgner and stylist Nora Rieser who devised the inventive latex suits for the collection. The result was Leigh Bowery gets down with Chucky the Clown at the Fetish Ball.
“Our concept was to create figures from the circus history and reduce it to its purist presentation, followed by tribal sci-fi influences, without losing the elegance,” Eberharter told me.
I had a few vodka and Red Bulls under my Valentino belt before this catwalk, so my experience of the show was rather hallucinatory….a deliciously disturbing nightmare.
This was definitely a “Sex Dwarf”-y moment a la the Soft Cell classic.
We were floored by this guy–he was about 9-feet tall!
This has kind of an Invaders from Mars/Plan 9 From Outer Space mood about it.
We are Siamese if you please. We are Siamese if you don’t please.
I’m having a bit of a Thierry Mugler flashback now…Sharon Stone with fetish slaves at her feet. We used an image of that for the cover of my early ’90s fanzine Pussy Grazer (way back before the era of blogs, darlings.)
But this was definitely a fashion show like no other.
