Dear Shaded Viewers,

The Province of Antwerp, Antwerpen Open and Toerisme Vlaanderen join together to celebrate Happy Birthday Dear Academie with 12 iconic designers, all graduates of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, and an iconic piece from their archives. MoMu invited photographer ROnald Stoops, make-up artist Inge Grognard and fashion designer Dirk Van Saene to interpret these garments in a styling with printed bodysuits which reference the signature of the designers. The large format photos pop up at various locations all over the city.

Luk Lemmens, deputy Culture Province of Antwerp: "The monumental proportions are reminiscent of the totemic 'giants' that have been carried in Antwerp processions since the 14th century. It is a nice way to highlight the connection between the Fashion Museum and the city center."

Kaat Debo, director MoMu: " Designer Dirk Van Saene created a visual link between the silhouettes by the use of a simple bodysuit. Each is printed with a pattern or textile strongly associated with the appropriate designer's work, chosen following research through the archives of MoMu, Antwerp's Fashion Museum."
