Dear Shaded Viewers,
Paris is completely empty, at least in the 7eme. I'm working non stop but…yesterday Akiko and I found one theatre where the Bling Ring was playing one time once a week and we decided to take a short break. Actually I quite liked the film. Was not expecting to but thought the pace was good and it is a look of one segment of society, a shallow vision without much depth like the characters that she was portraying. Sofia Coppola is good at portraying a certain segment of society that I imagine she knows very well like in her last film, Somewhere, terribly boring film but I imagine it should have been since it was all about an empty, boring character. Lost in Translation remains my favorite Sofia Coppola film and The Virgin Suicides but she's good.
Later,
Diane
