PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI REPORTS ON PID AND DAEGU COLLECTIONS

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I recently attended my first textile fair in Asia and discovered the city of Daegu, located an hour away from Seoul by plane. Daegu is an important textile center in South Korea, where you can source all kinds of unusual fabrics, whether they be technological or traditional. During the trade show event -called Preview in Daegu- fashion shows are also presented. Daegu wants to increase its profile as a fashion city and attract more and more foreign visitors.

I developed a new obsession for historical Korean clothing, which I find beautiful and inspiring. Hanbok is the traditional Korean dress. In Daegu, it is celebrated with its own fashion show, and I loved finding out about the different materials and dyes used to make it.

A visit to Korea wouldn't be complete without a tasty bbq dinner. It's one of my favorite meals in the world.
