A visit to the Christophe Lemaire showroom

Dear  Shaded Viewers,

It is amazing how a little layer of snow can bring Paris to a halt. Absolutely no taxis…anyway I made it to the Christophe Lemaire showroom, a bit whiter than usual. Christophe was there showing the collection to the Fantastic Man duo, Gert Jonkers looked great in this coat and I would not be surprised if it ends up in his wardrobe. The coat has no closures but a belt is always an option. Christophe makes timeless pieces that will age well with you. The collection was inspired by characters that all share a common trait – melancholia. Ian Curtis and his black butterflies, Truffaldien heroes in jean blouson uniforms, turn of the Century men in austere sets, I wish you could feel the textiles, yak and alpaca tweeds, cotton Moleskine, cotton poplin, Japanese denim, in styles like military blouson, knits…  These are the kind of timeless pieces that you want to live with and wrap yourself up in.

Can't you just feel this?
