Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
Tonight I attended the show of Erik Bjerkesjo, surely one of the most exciting events at Pitti this season. Erik is a recent graduate of Polimoda, the Florentine fashion school. Mentored by Linda Loppa, the former director of the fashion department at the Antwerp Royal Academy's, Erik won the Who's On Next competition last season at Pitti with his capsule collection inspired by themese as disparate as Joy Division, dandyism, and Italian artisans. This allowed Erik to present his first full collection under the auspices of Pitti Uomo. The black and white collection displayed Erik's tailoring skills and his deceptively clean esthetic under which hides considerable talent.
