Winner of the 1,2,3 and the Public Prize at the Festival d’Hyeres comes to Paris

Dear Shaded Viewers,

When Jean Paul Lespagnard won two prizes at the festival d’Hyeres, he could not wipe the smile off of his face. He went there alone, was sweet to everyone made us all smile and laugh, worked hard, overcame the crowded living quarters and walked away with more than one prize. Ever since, the offers keep pouring in. At first he was so thrilled that he was accepting everything but then reality set in.

Jean Paul Lespagnard was in town with his charming pattern maker to meet with the 1,2,3 people and to show them his new collection and organize the fabrics. It’s going to be killer. I cannot tell you much more than this: think mountains and boxing and let your imagination do the rest. It will make you smile, it will make you laugh and it will be very wearable. The collection is going to fly out of 1,2,3 like butterflies released from their cage.

JP loves to collect German cakes. He’s not usually wearing them but for the sake of these photos it became his accessory.

In a week or so JP leaves for Berlin where he will stay for a few months designing an opera. He will also be working on the 1,2,3 collection, his own collection and …

In addition to his other work JP styled the latest Yelle video directed by the uber talented Yoann Lemoine and will be doing the costumes for Yelle’s upcoming tour.

It was funny at lunch we were talking about who he would dream to wear his clothes.

“After arriving in Brussels, i directly left for Lokeren to see Grace Jones concert. OH MY! It was FANTASTIC!

I was dreaming of her on stage wearing my green polka bodysuit :-)” Jean Paul Lespagnard

I don’t know that Grace Jones is a Shaded Viewer but maybe some of her friends are…
