Dear Shaded Viewers,

I attended the second edition of Mode Suisse in Geneva last weekend and discovered clothes to get excited about. Although it's fair to say that Swiss designers are not necessarily known by industry insiders, Yannick Aellen and Ursina Widmer -the two power minds behind the event- built a great platform for new talents, combining a showroom area with two distinct shows. The production was sleek and this was the first time Mode Suisse took place in Geneva. Swiss designers seem to have a flair for conceptual thinking, as well as an understanding of function and refinement. I loved Niklaus Hodel's menswear collection, which felt romantic and transgressive at the same time.
