Dear ASVOF Readers,
At the spritely age of 17, I discovered the films of Maya Deren and nothing really remained the same within my creative mindset. The moment I saw the hauntingly gorgeous vignettes of films Maya created, I was inspired to pick up a camera and explore the world myself. The world lost her prematurely at the age of 44, but this evening will present a rebirth of her in filmic form. Diane and I's have corresponded several times about Maya as I wish she were here to attend.
Tonight at 7:30pm, the LACMA in Los Angeles will be presenting a program that features all of her completed shorts
