Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

Delfina Delettrez's genteel surrealism, gold plated and feminine, florid and luscious as only her designs could be, meets for the coming season with an exciting new source of inspiration: the voluptuous rigor of superfine architecture. For today's presentation, her "Metalphysic" collection was nestled in a wonderfully optical lounge at Les Arts Decoratifs, where mosaic details or fluted Roman columns, sweetened by light pearls and ruby kisses, would stand out and glisten against a very chequered background. Carved prominently in marble, the collection features bracelets and chokers that reminded me of a painting by Andrea Del Castagno, but in fresher and brighter shades. Featuring the very primordial, charming architecture of bees and their amber hives as well as enchanted mirrors and preciously varnished fingers, "Metalphysic" aims to lightly brush the ancient mysteries of the very first art form, offering us a quick glimpse into its secrets through her distinctive, pearly blue eye.
