Dear Shaded Viewers,
I was too late for the fashion show of Brain and Beast, so I met Diane, David, Jason and Glenn outside of the show venue of Barcelona fashion week, Placa Del Rei.
After a little tea with Daniel, Felipe and his husband, we decided to explore the gothic area.
Beautiful well maintained 40'-50's cafe
We were a little too late for the oldest candle store… In Spain, the shops are closed for siesta… Hope we can make it there before we leave.
Ran into trendslab BCN
This window on Carre Libreteria attracted me when I lost my way to Placa Del Rei.
We did some souvenir shopping. From the objects inside the store, you feel full of love – I think they really care what they have in the store. I love the way they packed our souvenirs.
We are in Spain – have to try some Spanish hams – of course these are for David and me. The food at Allium was quite good – by the time we left, the restaurant was filled with locals.
Lemon finally got to eat her first Spanish Tapas.
Went back to CaixaForum for the interview for Cinema3 on TV3, Catalan TV.
Mario Salvucci, the man of Diane's spiders and Sandro Gonnella, the man of Diane's NEW custom made sunglasses arrived finally.
Sandro Gonnella, Mario Salvucci and Diane
People started to que for the 6 o'clock screening.
Around this time of the day, there are group of young boys dancing outside of CaixaForum. The glass becomes mirror for them to see themselves.
I will post a little flip video later.
Just before the Glenn's lecture, there was a little time to visit Mies van der Rohe Pavillion across the street.
This pavillion was originally built as the German Pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition It was once diassembled in 1930, but it was reconstracted in 1986 on its original site.
Briefing before the lecture of Glenn Adamson
At Q&A session, Glenn was asking about everyobody's opinion about the perspective of fashion industry from different angles. From the left, Linda Loppa – director of Polimoda, Robb Young – contributing fashion business journalists for the International Herald Tribune, the Financial Times and Vogue.co.uk, Diane and Joachim Schirrmacher – creative consultant, Berlin and Project Director European Award FASH of sdbi.de.
It was such an interesting conversation almost like an academic lecture and Q&A from the top industry people who are not influenced by the big corporations. I will share some quotes later with short video clips.
Federico was asked to take photos with Joachim's camera.
ASVOFF Barcelona – MAHALA operational team – Maria, Eva, Laura and Silvia.
Later,
Akiko.
