Dear Diane, Dear Shaded viewers,
Last Sunday, I visited Tomomi Nagasaka, the designer of pistil at "plastic walz" which was held at uamou store in 2k540.
Tomomi met Ayako, the designer of uamou at Tokyo Vansankai. They got along instantly and they decided to make a collaboration collection – pistil x uamou.
Do you see a small uamou in the middle of the bracelet?
Actually Tomomi's interests are more on objets rather than jewelry.
Tomomi Nagasaka, pistil x Ayako Takagi, Studio Uamou
Ayako's brother runs a cafe at the space – Yushokuya Boo. One of the uamou's was having tea togehter with us.
I could not stop taking a photo of his legs… those were too cute.
"plastic waltz" is open until 29 December 2011 at STUDIO UAMOU – 2k540 N-5 5-9 Ueno Taito-ku Tokyo
The space where uamou studio is called 2k540 AKI-OKA ARTISAN. The space opened a year ago to promote hand craft creaters to have their own retail space. It is under the rail way of JR – in between Akihabara and Okachimachi. When you are going to Tokyo for electronics shopping, or otaku(gig) culture visit – you should stop by to find out some Japanese craftsmanship.
Later,
Akiko.
