Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
On December 1, artistic duo Angus & Soest will be exhibiting their apocalyptic oil paintings in partnership with the Not So Popular art collective at Shoreditch bar Catch.
Hailing from Scotland and Russia respectively, the painters' large scale pieces explore the human condition and our relation to time and space using religious remnants. The results are striking, Neo-Expressionist images that attempt to clarify and understand the fundamentals of the world we inhabit.
Not So Popular is a London-based collaboration of artists and writers founded in early 2010 by Emely Neu, Jade French, and Ellen Angus. The group, which proclaims a desire to "rise above the 9-5", publishes an independent tri-monthly art, music, poetry and fashion zine.
Together, the two creative collectives are sure to offer up an interesting night of art and critical thoughts on modern-day culture.
