Dear Diane and dear Shaded Viewers,
For the month of August, RA in Antwerp is hosting an installation by Brussels based designer Jean Paul Lespagnard. The installation whith the title "4 times 2 silhouettes and 2 portraits of me" will feature a selection of silhouettes from his past collections and also outfits from his latest A/W 11-12 collection "I Could Be Yours!", the first women's ready-to-wear collection he presented during Paris Fashion Week in March 2011.
Lespagnard: "Most of the pieces you will see are 'working clothes'. I mean that I'm using these pieces every time I design a new collection. So you will see details (pockets, animal prints, snaps…) passing from one collection to the next or the one after. This is why you'll see that not all the pieces are clean because of the no-sleep-night coffe and all the manipulations and travels and photo shoots etc etc. These are living pieces. These are the tools to find key words to communicate with my public. And the portraits are just simple portraits of me dressed as Maya The Bee in Mexico, the country of the Mayan people."
His installation is to be seen at RA, Kloosterstraat 13 in Antwerp from now until end of August!
