Ioana and Dragos
Dear Shaded Viewers,
I am a bit under the shock. I just found out that the other night Ioana Nemes, one of Romania's most respected contemporary artists, died April 23rd of a heart attack. I made a post about her opening in NYC last week and today at the age of 32 she is dead, I only saw her a few times in Romania, above is an image of when we met.
Dec. 3, 2009 in Bucharest
Ioana is an artist in Bucharest who has a project where she tries to make visible what happens to a person in a 24 hour period by analyzing the time that passes through numbers, words and colors. She did the study first on herself but now would like to extend that to include other subjects. This exhibition was in Prague with a selection of 8 days. She also has done an art project on the meanings behind symbols and iconography which includes a stamp on cheese by a priest to masks used for rituals. More later when I post the video interview.
What is that quote, "Live each day as if it were your last"
