Dear Shaded Viewers,

A few years ago I interviewed Rossy de Palma for the film issue of ZOO Magazine. If you've noticed, Rossy is going to DJ for ASVOFF in Cannes on May 12th and beyond that she is a memeber of the ASVOFF 4 jury for the launch Oct 7, 8 & 9, 2011. Since I have Rossy on my mind I decided to unearth the original interview and give you some of the excerpts…

DP: When you were about 20 you were playing with Peor Impossible. How did you meet the other members of the band and how old were you when you left Mallorca and at what age did you start singing, playing and dancing?

RdP: We met at fun&fantasy in Palma de Mallorca, the island where I was born, just like my artists name: Rossy de Palma, it's rosi from palma city. We were 9 fresh and crazy young people with the express yourself syndrome, I was 17 and we were all between 16 + 17 up to 28-29.

DP: What was your life like at that time in Madrid?

RdP: We were starving, not even enough money to take the subway, renetic life but not even a heavy coat to wear, free, funny, colorful, creative and deadly too, because too many of my friends got into drugs, excess and then AIDS began to scare everyone around. I was 20 years old at that time and very centered by the way, a young working girl , too sure of herself maybe, but looking back at it I could say that sometimes arrogance could be a very effective way of protecting oneself.

DP: How did you go from singing and dancing to making films?

RdP: Working with mm
