Basil Soda at his exhibition in his wonderful showroom in Beirut
This was my favorite piece, who wouldn't love a black butterfly?
Basil is very concerned about the backs of all of his dresses
Dear Shaded Viewers,
I just got in from a less than 24 hour trip to Beirut,my first trip to that region and I was the guest of the couture/rtw designer Basil Soda. The collection was inspired by an xray of a butterfly and that idea was interpreted in layers of sheer fabrics and embroideries. Basil was an architect before becomming a designer and the linear aspect plays into everything he does.
France 24's Pascal Mourier hard at work at Basil Soda's exhibition
Actually not a minute was wasted this is France 24 cameraman at work on the ride from the airport to the Hilton where we all stayed.
I enjoyed meeting Basil Soda's VIP clients
And his beautiful wife, sweet as she is charming wearing Basil Soda's RTW.
The smallest digital camera I've ever seen, everything is a surprise as there is no place for a screen.
VIP's I was told that the man on your left is "the" make-up artist in all of the Middle East and that he has just came out with a beauty line.
L'Official's Louis Bonpard and France 24's Pascal Mourier
We ended the night with what I can only describe as a "feast" there must have been at least 24 dishes and each was amazing.
Later,
Diane
