Dear Shaded Viewers,

Soon Magazine launched its 14th issue in Brussels last night with a prestigious guest, namely photographer David Hamilton. I've been a fan of his work for several years and remember seeing his images for the first time when I was a child in the 70s. Turns out he's a charming, humble and accessible man. I loved his style, too. I tried to have a longer chat with him, but he was surrounded with admirers the whole time.

Several photographs were exhibited in different rooms and I enjoyed the private and intimate atmosphere. Hamilton's diaphanous and erotic creatures feel fresh again and there is no vulgarity in his approach. Guests wandered around and had a look at the magazine for which he also contributes.

I was glad to bump into Didier Vervaeren. He let go of his beard and we all agreed we preferred the smooth look on him.

David Hamilton's photographs will be showcased until the 7th of July at Galerie Soon International, 83 Rue Royale, 1000 Brussels.

Best,

Philippe
