Dear Shaded Viewers,
It was a smart and beautiful melting pot of 200 or so of LA's art,
design, and fashion notables at the champagne reception for the new
THVM store in the burgeoning Arts District of downtown Los Angeles.
While some of the attendees are familiar with the area, for a great
many, it was their first trek to this part of Los Angeles.
Olga Nazarova and Hollywood native Brian Kim
Born in Russia, Olga Nazarova met Hollywood native Brian Kim a few
years ago and in 2009 they founded their denim-based collection THVM
Atelier. The newlywed couple then self-published a bi-annual magazine
THVM Rag, a collaboration with those in their creative fold which has
now evolved into THVM Store.

Those on hand to give their congratulations included singer Ariel
Pink, actress Jena Malone, legendary photographer Mick Rock (in town
from NY), model AJ English, former pro skater Salman Agah and art
consultant wife Price Latimer Agah (the couple recently opened a
fantastic pizzeria called Toddy G's near the THVM store),
choreographer Ryan Heffington, filmmaker/artist Nic Trikonis (who has
been documenting the behind the scenes making of the THVM store and
just directed a beautiful short for Arielle De Pinto), and
contemporary artist Jason Yates.
The beautiful installation by artist Ishi Glinsky and Caiti Hawkins gave a perfect frame
to Arielle De Pinto's delicate yet strong hand-crocheted copper and
sterling silver dress. Other designers showcased in the artfully
curated retail environment celebrated with THVM founders Olga and
Brian including Clayton and Flavie Webster of Cerre, Raquel Allegra,
Moonspoon Saloon's Sara Sachs, and Annie Costello Brown.
THVM attendees were treated to music by harpist Ted Nichelson and DJ
sets by Mexico Showroom/Surface to Air's David Pacho in town for the
week with his NYC crew of Joshua Safalow and Callie Barlow.

Post-party, many walked across the street to Villains Tavern where
they sipped custom cocktails from old fashioned Mason jars while
admiring the amazing "vintage country" band Hello Trouble under the
starry sky. It was a perfect night out in the wild West!
