The current window of Dover Street Market is 'Clothes Of The Land: Timeless Fashion' and features the homespun peasant clothing from 18th and early 19th century France. The collection was amassed over many years by the famous English costume designer and textile expert, Byrony Thomasson.
Byrony was born in December 1933 and began her career in textiles in the 1950's, starting out by taking a stall in Portobellow Road. She traveled in France and around the globe collecting textiles and clothing. She has loaned her collection to egg, London.
