How would you define NG?
I'd call it a diary, when I started ,
I really loved the idea of working without a predefined structure.
When did you start photography?
I got my first camera when I was eight years old. In the beginning I wanted to take
photographs of architecture.
And now you focus on portraits?
If you look at the magazine you will find portraits of
music bands and guys. With the next issue (NG4) there will be the
first section dedicated to female portraits. But I love to photograph
anything clouds , trees ! The choice of the male nude in the
magazine, is perhaps related to my personal morbidity, rather
than a particular mood of the magazine.

Can you tell us more about your editorial background?
I founded the first fanzine in the '79 with Stefano Tonchi (currently Editor in Chief at W magazine) it was called APACHE we had a lot fun in that period, afterwards I worked with various magazines of Graziano Liga: Artist,
Punk Artist and Focus, and I launched my first magazine called Envelope
with Maurizio Turchet and Milo Gualano.
I guess you always had complete freedom
in editorial decisions?
Yes, Independence and freedom the same as now with NG.
You also have a music label , which bands are you're producing?
The label is very small, the current
productions are Samuel Katarrro(out with new record on April 2010)
and Scarlets , (out with the new record next winter), and until
three years ago my own music. Being a
self produced label , the choice falls on musicians that have their
own qualities and peculiarities. Samuel plays blues for example,
Scarlet's psychedelic indie.
What is your relation with music
today?
Music was the key to my life, but now I'm a bit over saturated. You can imagine as a DJ I've listened to every kind of music over the past thirty
years , and I still do it now with passion. There was a time when my research in music was constant and even compulsive, now when I am home I prefer silence.
