 Dear Shaded Viewers,

This morning I was happy to receive these images from the amazing Shanghai World Expo. Wish that I was there but happy that Brooke Taylor and Nana Aganovich were and could share this with us. The UK Pavillion, otherwise known as the Seed Cathedral,  is 20 meters high made out of 60,000 fibre-optic rods each with a seed planted on its tip was created by British design star Thomas Heatherwick and his studio. During the day the fibre optic rods draw daylight inwards to illuminate the interior, at night, light sources inside each rod allow the whole structure to glow. The idea of the pavillion is to promote the strength of British design innovation and out of 230 different pavillions in the show this is the one that is drawing the most attention.

Later,

Diane for Brooke and Nana
