Chris Engman is based in Seattle he inserts strange complex, artefacts and erects frames in the desert in a way to circumscribe the endless wild spaces of the landscapes of Washington, which have proved fertile terrain for his experiments. The structures he erects are demand several days of reconnaissance and construction for the artist in order to wed them to their natural environment. He studies how the light will effect their sculptural forms and shuns ostentation and even succeeds in making the viewer forget how expertly they were made.
