Dear Shaded Viewers,
It’s spring in February and my first show was Eley Kishimoto’s Bonnie Bunny or run rabbit run collection. This seems to be a good moment for Eley Kishimoto what with their signature collection and their new position as the creative directors at Cacharel along with that they are continuing to decorate surfaces and even swimming pools around the planet.
Friends need to smoke and Jason of the J C Reports at the Louise Goldin show.
Pierre Hardy collaborated with Louise by designing her shoes. Patent leather shoes with color and patterned legs have already shown up as a trend at London Fashion Week.
Robb, Jason and I had a very interesting talk about Louise and her Space Eskimo collection with the financial partner of Louise Goldin after her show. In a short time she has managed to put a structure to the business, find excellent manufacturers and the wonderful Florence as the commercial.
Dinners, parties, openings….I skipped them all. Sorry for those that I disappointed. Up this morning at 4h, not feeling that great and my bath and bed are calling. I did want to see Andreina for dinner, I did want to go to the Dazed party, I did want to go to the White Cubicle for Husam’s show,….but. I just could not do it.
Hector Castro, the creative director of Biba, feeling good, as he should, with his man, Klaus Schmidt, graphic designer.
Unfortunately I missed Biba, I was not in London, and don’t know how I missed Ossie Clark’s presentation but visit Hilary Alexander at the Telegraph for a full report. I loved it. Bravo Hecto Castro for Biba, it is no wonder he was looking so happy when I ran into him after the Louise Goldin show.

Nights end, shoe report.
Marco de Rivera sent me an interesting article by Suzy Menkes that appeared yesterday in the IHT titled Reinvention game: Ossie Clark, Biba and Jaeger London. I’m always amazed at the not so great choices that frequently take place, makes me think that I should be a head hunter. Hector Castro was an excellent choice for Biba and if anyone were to ask me who I thought should take the helm at Schiaparelli, if ever that promised revival engineered by Diego della Valle of Tod’s and Roger Vivier should take place, I strongly propose Marjan Pejoski as the creative director, I’m sure he would be as successful for Schiaparelli as Hector Castro is for Biba. Think about it …he’s a natural.
Now I’m running off to Marios Schwab’s show. If you remember, last November he walked away with the 100,000 EUROS prize from Swiss Textiles.
Later,
Diane
