Mario Canal: Gaultier Goes Gaelic

Dear Diane, dear shaded viewers,
Finally I’ve managed to post yesterday’s Gaultier show. It was not very impressive despite the magnificent dancer that opened and closed the show with a scotish or gaelic dance -not that into the islands ancient culture, sorry-. She danced so fast that couldn’t even shoot her -and the models I captured are kind of blured, sorry for that too-.
Well, the french adored designer didn’t really dig into the subject -in my opinion- but still people claped and cheered the models.
Let’s see some pics:

Well, the point is: was Gaultier inspired by his living-in-the-british-countriside-friend Madonna?
Who knows. The important thing is that except for a couple of dresses at the end of the show in witch he deconstructed the classic pattern, Tartan, making it look like a Pantone of the Highlands, the rest was kind of: “ok, overdose of Tartan and overdose of furs” -wasn’t Madonna more into ecology?, like vegetarian and so? will she dress them?-.

He did some nice rocky jackets and wool masks with net shapes too…

And that’s it, I am sure that you feel like seeing something else, something more fresh.
Gaultier is an excellent designer -the cut of some dresses was impecable-, but again, this was not one of his best shows.

P.S.- I want to thank Ramon Fano and the Neo2 team for whom I cover the shows and the reason I can post this show for ASVOF.
