Dadara’s Greymen, Thera Hillenaar, artist/costume designer and DP with child

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Before I took my train back to Paris I paid a visit to DADARA. Greymen were scattered around the studio floor, some of them showed the results of having been blown up. A series of Greymen were installed in a Nevada desert where they were then set on fire.  A year before, Daniel, the force behind Dadara, had built a big wooden boat (15 meters long) shipped it to the States and trucked it to the same desert and also burned it.

Thera Hillenaar shares her life and space with Dadara. Years ago she was a contestant in the festival d’Hyeres, now she works on installations, theatre and dance costumes and one off pieces for publicity. Below is Rocking Unicorn and Dots, all created by Thera Hillenaar.

Here I am in Dadara world with one of Daniel’s customized designer toys. We thought that a gold wall as a backdrop would be a good idea for Madonna and Child. Next year’s Christmas card maybe?
