Austrian Fashion Week 16-24 September

Austrian fashion is one of the most interesting of the new fashion markets, if you are planning a trip to Vienna here is what you will find:

Friday, 16.09.2005, 8pm:  Fashion Week Preview
(with invitation only)

Kick-off for the Austrian Fashion Week 2005, Unit F will present the program of a week filled with pure fashion as well as the new Vienna City Guide, a 100% Viennese fashion and lifestyle guide produced by Unit F in co-operation with the Vienna Tourist Board and departure wirtschaft, kunst und kultur GmbH.

Tuesday 20.09. & Wednesday 21.09.2005, 8:30pm:  Dresscode
In collaboration withTanzquartier Wien, MuseumsQuartier, Halle G

Dresscode is the result of a first collaboration betweenTanzquartier Wien, the Viennese platform for contemporary dance, and Unit F association for contemporary fashion.
Four teams consisting of choreographers and fashion designers will question the relations between  body and clothing throught an interdisciplinary project.

French choreographer Anne Juren joined the designer duo Hartmann Nordenholz and designer Eva Blut whereas choreographer Philipp Gehmacher joined designer flor de illusion/Wolfgang Langeder, Austrian-French performance-collective SUPERAMAS with Mel Merio, Hartmann Nordenholz, Claudia Rosa Lukas and artist (fine arts) Ines Doujak.

Concept has been developed by Ines Doujak in close collaboration with all participants for this evening. The program will take the form of an installation and will be definitely explosive.

Thursday, 22.09.2005, 8:30pm: Departure Fashion Night
Kunsthalle Wien, MuseumsQuartier

Shows of Austrian fashion designers supported by departure wirtschaft, kunst und kultur GmbH, such as Wendy&Jim, __fabrics interseason, Petar Petrov and Art Point, will be presented during the Departure Fashion Night.

Friday, 23.09.2005, 8:30pm: Erste Bank Fashion Night
Kunsthalle Wien, MuseumsQuartier

Under the patronage of Erste Bank, this unique fashion event will invite designers from Central and Eastern Europe to show their most recent collections.
Selected designers/labels are: Marjan Pejoski from Macedonien, A & V from Lithuania, Denisa Nova from the Czech Republic, Ania Kuczy_ska from Poland and Oktober from Slovenia.

Saturday, 24.09.2005, 8:30pm: Austrian Fashion Awards Night 05
Kunsthalle Wien, MuseumsQuartier

Fashion Awards
Unit F have been assigning the Austrian Fashion Awards for 6 times already.
The awards are donated by the Austrian Federal Chancellery, the Office for Cultural Affairs of the City of Vienna and Unit F. The collections of the winners will be presented through fashion shows.
