MARTIN WEBB IN TOKYO RETURNS AFTER INEXCUSABLY LONG ABSENCE

Apologies for the lack of posts from the Far East.

The Japan Times sent me over to Hong Kong to do some advertorial related to the Hong Kong Shopping Festival.

Although the event itself wasn’t anything to write home about, I was treated to a very pleasant stay at the Peninsula and got to check out the latest looks in store at Joyce, Lane Crawford, Shine and I.T.

Thanks to an introduction from style writer (and Alexander McQueen devotee) Kitty Go, I found myself warmly welcomed into one of Hong Kong’s most fabulous cliques headed up by Fendi PR Shaun Hui.

The lovely Shaun

The fragrant Shaun and his lissome entourage took me on fruity bar crawl ending at members-only nightspot Volar where we joined celebrity racehorse trainer Tony Cruz, who somehow managed to kick a bottle of Krug into a young lady’s lap while making an over-exuberant exit.

We partied on into the wee hours, etc. etc.
