Dear Shaded Viewers,
I met the photographer Wendy Bevan at the opening of ASVOFF Rome. Wendy is both a photographer and a musician. Slow Light is a collection of self-portraits presented as an audio-visual installation. The twin icons of the femme fatale and the classical muse collide in the expression of visceral strength and tremulous vulnerability. The use of multiple exposures made with Bevan's Polaroid camera render the images ghostly and dream like but also inflamed with texture and intensity.
A soundscape will accompay the site-specific installation.
