A new idea…Scent Dinners at Castello Dal Pozzo – Castello Dal Pozzo & Aqua di Stresa

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I was introduced to this novel concept of the Scent Dinner while in Milan at the Perfume launch of UNSCENT. The Scent Dinner is a combination of fine dining with a stimulating interactive master class in scent & perfume. That is two parallel dinners, one olfactory and invisible and the other gustatory and edible. The two worlds of fragrance and food share many of the same qualities. Visual and olfactory sensations, carefully sourced ingredients, masterful preparation and presentation.

With each course the guests enjoy professional-grade gourmand perfumery raw materials such as essences and absolutes of Cardamomo of Malesia and red oranges from the slopes of Etna, Sicily.

Around these scents of raw materials and perfumes on blotters, guests will experience the behind the scenes of the perfume industry and its history. Chef Francesco Luoni generates menus that reflect in each of his culinary passions. These evenings start this weekend and go up until October at the Restaurant Le Fief at the Palace of the Property and in the Ballrooms of the Castle.

The Castello Dal Pozzo is on Lago Maggiore. The Castello is 30 km from Malpensa and 85 km from Linate. The castle itself is considered one of the purest re-interpretations of neo-Gothic Tudor existing in Italy. It was built by the Visconti d'Aragona family, the Palazzo has retained its Italian style terraced garden while the farm annexes have been converted into the modern luxury hotel. Each of the 30 bedrooms is individually decorated.
