Maybe the international press can’t come to Paris this Fashion Week, and maybe we Parisians are almost forbidden elsewhere for being a red zone for CO-VID19; but Koché made us all travel into another universe this afternoon.
The collection was shown at the Park Buttes-Chaumont in the 19th district in Paris, one of the few physical shows of the season. The models walked to the sound of a group of men wearing Koché and playing bagpipes. The set up really made you reflect on how ritualistic the whole idea of “initiating clothes into society” is. And how the fashion show is just an interpretation of our times of this idea.
The collection was as always for the brand a mix between sport codes and codes that come from the imagination of high fashion, like feathers and lace. The styling of the collection was quite challenging, for the untrained eye, at least. Featuring elements and ways of putting the clothes together that come from low-brow fashion culture. I personally thought it was amazing. The football shoes are on point and so are the sunglasses in the collection.
The casting of the show was beautifully picked and gave a full range of different textures to the runway, and let you appreciate the clothes from many different angles and in different forms of beauty.
