Fever by Raphael Neal

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I just came back from the press screening of FEVER the first feature film of Raphael Neal. Neal Neal is a photographer and a director living in Paris. The film was shot 2 years ago in Paris and has since traveled the world. It first premiered at the Champs-Elysees Film Festival and then in competition at Festival des Films du Monde in Montreal, Cinequest in California, and got the Best male actor award at theMumbai International Film Festival as well as the Special Mention by the jury at Oldenburg International Film Festival in Germany. It has also screened in Hong Kong and Transilvania.

The film is a psychological thriller, reminded me a bit of the ROPE by Hitchock in as much as someone is randomly selected to be murdered. There is no reason for the killing and they don't even know their victim. They felt that they could not be punished for something that happened by chance. The film was freely adapted from a novel FEVER by Leslie Kaplan.

FEVER will be in the cinemas October 7th.

Later,

Diane
