Dear Shaded Viewers,
Dries Van Noten's last collection was fresh and exciting, underlining the designer's upbeat and playful mood. Intense hues and surprising associations gave his clothes a unique twist, mixing tailored lines with striking embellishment. Evoking the sinuous lines of the 1930s -as well as the glam rock aesthetics of the 1970s- Van Noten focused on sensual and voluptuous pieces, which definitely made a statement. From his use of clashing prints to shimmering sequins, he evoked the decadence and nonchalance of an inspired magpie, mixing the ease of a bomber jacket with a wool turleneck and ruffled skirt. It seems that the Belgian designer relies on his instincts more and more, coming up with bolder interpretations each season.
Best,
Philippe
