Dear Shaded Viewers,
During Haute Couture Week, Istituto Marangoni Paris presented the work of its ten top graduating Fashion Design students at Hôtel de Galliffet, celebrating twenty years of the school in the French capital while placing the spotlight on a new generation of designers. Each collection offered a distinct perspective, shaped by personal histories, craftsmanship, and cultural identity.
The runway brought together voices from across the world. Tanisha Nevrekar explored femininity through material tension and emotional strength, while Amro Atamleh reinterpreted traditional Palestinian dress with Parisian couture techniques. Chaerin Park transformed the geometry of Korean concrete architecture into sculptural silhouettes, and Simon Chichportich drew inspiration from the nightlife of the 1980s and 1990s. Elsewhere, Carlotta Baader revisited 1920s Paris through the writings of Virginia Woolf, Marina Roudier found poetry in everyday dressing rituals, and Jessica Ko Hsun Sun reflected on family memory through inherited garments.

The remaining collections continued that dialogue between heritage and innovation. Kimgy Lao examined distance and belonging through historical tailoring, Grace Ilis was inspired by the revival of historical garments and the controversy in their reinterpretations in today’s world, and Trisha Talpady looked to the relationship between horse and rider as a symbol of freedom. Together, the ten graduates demonstrated a remarkable range of ideas without losing sight of craftsmanship, a quality that remains central to the school’s philosophy.
