The Language of Cloth: Imane Ayissi’s Ozouandam Ollat

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Imane Ayissi presented OZOUANDAM OLLAT, his Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture collection during Paris Haute Couture Week. As a guest member of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the Cameroonian designer continues to bring a distinctive perspective to the official couture calendar, drawing together African textile traditions and the craftsmanship of the Parisian atelier.

Handwoven fabrics, raffia, and locally sourced natural materials formed the foundation of the collection. Sculptural silhouettes, detailed embroidery, and rich color reflected the dialogue between ancestral techniques and haute couture construction, with every look shaped by a close attention to material and craftsmanship.

Ayissi’s work has long explored the relationship between cultural heritage and contemporary fashion. Here, sustainability grows from the value of handmade production and traditional knowledge, offering a vision of couture where craft, memory, and innovation evolve side by side.

Yours digitally,
Pedro
