These days, the promotion of a new film often commands a budget comparable to the production itself. It comes as little surprise, then, that Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) continues to explore new promotional avenues—this time through a collaboration with a fashion house.
Timed to coincide with the June release of Supergirl, Warner Bros., the film’s distributor, has partnered with David Koma for the brand’s pre-fall 2026 collection. Designing a Supergirl-inspired, day-to-night wardrobe, Koma draws on the exceptional women who have shaped his creative vision over the years, reimagining the heroine’s iconography through a distinctly luxury fashion lens.
Conceived to feel rebellious while retaining Koma’s signature sensuality, the collection stars supermodel Yasmin Wijnaldum, who steps into the role of a modern superhero. True to its DC roots, crimson red and azure blue dominate the palette, while black, metallic silver, and gold are woven throughout. Dramatic silhouettes—exaggerated shoulders paired with tightly cinched waists—are offset by bouncy, engineered hems, resulting in an aesthetic that feels both futuristic and commanding.
Leather and faux fur anchor the eveningwear, complemented by velvet denim and sequins. Sculptural gowns contour the body and are finished with silver and gold hardware, while appliqué florals recur across the collection, softening its harder metallic elements. Daywear leans into sharp tailoring and statement puffers, with mini skirts paired alongside knee-high stiletto boots. Archival Supergirl graphics introduce a casual note, drawing imagery from the character’s original 1959 comic book appearances. The iconic emblem appears on mohair jumpers and embellished T-shirts, translating superhero symbolism into an elevated, everyday uniform.
The collection embodies every facet of the Koma woman, presenting a striking lineup that maintains glamour and magnetism while projecting an air of off-duty cool. As far as collaborations go, Koma achieves a deft balance that is neither overly kitsch nor excessively minimal.
