Unfolding ways of habits, a behavioral cadence, LÙCHEN Couture 2026 reveals itself over time – in motion, shaped gradually through wear, movement, and use. Guided by emotion, the collection considers couture as a responsive structure rather than a fixed form. Here, our collective experience is shaped through the senses and a certain presence, compelling a gentle reach, a touch.
Reminiscent of a fairy tale, upon entering the showroom, we drift unconsciously through fabrics and layers. The prism of the light ripples across the silhouettes, awakening our curiosity the same way the candy store tempts me every day. We cannot help but linger, lean closer, and follow the subtle trails it traces. A sculptural white ensemble erupts in layered, feather-like discs floating around the body, topped with a wide, halo-like headpiece. Ceremonial and never too extra. The feathers stunt show is on – patient constructions of reclaimed fabrics, deadstock remnants, and regenerated plastics. A subtle tension between permanence and disappearance.
We find ourselves leaning in again, drawn to a cobalt-blue dress scattered with glass marbles —tiny relics of childhood drawers and forgotten lost games. A mad crush. Inside the atelier, an evolving archive of recycled matter structures the work. Remnants from previous collections coexist with newly sourced fragments, each carrying its own lifecycle. Cut into new forms and layered together, these pieces create surfaces with continued purposes. Light passes through the bridal gowns, teasing transparency, a delicate play between concealment and revelation. Hints of skin peek, never raw but suggested, almost imagined. An invitation to gaze, keeping the body’s secrets intact.
Couture as a final bloom – LÙCHEN is shaped by a conversation with gravity. Structured, suspended volumes hold the body in stillness; weight-driven drapes release it into flow. Lu Chen unfolds the collection as a process—one that remembers, reconstructs, and stays receptive, inviting us to explore both the tangible and the ephemeral.
