So happy for Sean Baker for winning six Oscars last night for Anora. “Anora” won five of the six Oscars for which it was nominated: Best Picture, Best Director Sean Baker, Best Original Screenplay (also for Baker), Best Editor (Baker again), and Best Actress for Mikey Madison. the only category it lost was Yura Borisov’s nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
Big congratulations and so happy that eight years ago he was the grand prize winner for Snowbird for Kenzo.

SHORT DIRECTOR BIO: Sean Baker is the director/co-screenwriter of TAKE OUT (2008) and PRINCE OF BROADWAY (2009) – both nominated for the John Cassavettes’ Independent Spirit Award – and STARLET (2012), the recipient of the Robert Altman Independent Spirit Award, as well as another Cassavettes’ nominee. TANGERINE (2015, Distributed by Magnolia Pictures) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, was nominated for Best Actress, Best Director, Best Feature categories at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards and Mya Taylor won for Best Supporting Actress. Baker is a graduate of NYU and co-created IFC/FOX’s comedy series Greg the Bunny.
