From sporty mesh-printed dresses to destroyed skirt suit sets- this season the girls at Ottolinger have very cleverly deconstructed walk-of-shame-chic, presenting a collection fit for girl-boss bombshells. She may not have time to do a new beat between his place and the office but damn if she doesn’t still look better than the rest of us. The evolution of this girl finds itself more elegantly interpreted with sleek 60’s sci-fi references and subverted takes on high-end status symbols i.e. the melting “birkin”. Even their simple strappy black heels are pretty fetish-coded with high straps that let the entire toe bed really splay out and flop around.. Breasts, bums and, perfect blow-outs bounce down the runway in unison. It’s evoking a modern day Barbarella -in Berlin. With a giant inflatable monster-alien mouth inviting us into the show space, they aren’t taking themselves too seriously either. Ottolinger embraces a femininity that is multi dimensional and real. They tap into an inclusive, city-stomping sexy that hits the nail on the head over and over again.
