The Spring/Summer 2025 collection was initially inspired by the sensuality, lightness and opacity play of sheer textiles. I was looking at the transparency and softness in relation to animalia motifs in conversation with the boldness and glamour of feminine sexuality. Walking the line of draped softness and balancing with the hardness of more tailored language in a utilitarian context led me to the creation of this collection.
Returning for their third season together, Giuseppe Zanotti was the exclusive footwear partner for the LaQuan Smith Spring/Summer 2025 runway show, crafting six custom shoes solely for this season’s runway. This season’s hair was courtesy of Camille Rose, keyed by artist Lurissa Lawson, with makeup provided by Lancôme and Global International Artist Sheika Daley.
Debuting on the runway is a series of sleepwear ensembles created in partnership with Samsung Galaxy, introducing new sleepwear ensembles at New York Fashion Week inspired by the innovative design and sleep insights offered in Samsung’s new Galaxy Ring. The line will include four pieces comprising two looks — one men’s and one women’s and carry forward the sleepwear as daywear trend in a way only LaQuan could conceive it: with day-to-night options that echo Galaxy Ring’s 24/7 wearable design. The pieces will be available at retail for the general public after the runway show.
In partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, LaQuan Smith offered members of the travel program the exclusive opportunity to attend the show and immerse themselves into the luxurious world of LaQuan Smith, all for a single Marriott Bonvoy point. Offering members access to the best in entertainment, culture, and more, this experience included a pre-show welcome cocktail for guests with the Creative Director himself. As part of the cultural fashion experience, guests were treated to Poppi hydration stations and caviar tastings courtesy of Pearl Street Caviar. To cap off the immersive welcome, both Camille Rose and Lancôme offered guests the opportunity to achieve the ‘runway look’ with their teams’ artists.
To further empower Black fashion designers, both emerging and established, LaQuan Smith joined forces with McDonald’s to deliver industry mentorship to Change of Fashion designers during New York Fashion Week. The program, launched in May 2024, helps designers receive financial resources, participate in career-impacting mentorship sessions, and provides the opportunity to elevate brands onto the world’s largest cultural stages.
