My Post-Glennda Screening Talk with Curator Jon Davies at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. By Glenn Belverio

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I’ve finally found a spare moment to post about my fantastic trip to Minneapolis this past May. I was invited by the Walker Art Center and guest curator Jon Davies for a screening of three Glennda Orgasm videos from the early ’90s: Seize Control of the Taj Mahal, On the Campaign Trail with Joan Jett Blakk and Glennda and Bruce Do Times Square co-starring author Bruce Benderson.

Jon Davies interviewed me onstage after the screening—my Lydia Tár moment!—and I took questions from the audience. The Walker documented it, video above.

As soon as I arrived in Minneapolis, I headed straight for the Walker’s celebrated Sculpture Park. The weather was stunning.

My friend Ben Shields and I are huge Mary Tyler Moore Show fans—so of course we made a pilgrimage to the famous house.

What a thrill to view the Walker’s Keith Haring: Art Is for Everybody exhibition, on view through September 8, 2024. It featured a lot of rarely seen work.

Love,

Glenn Belverio
