Dear Shaded Viewers,
I must admit, it was a surprise this morning when Alessandro Michele unveiled his first designs for Valentino months ahead of the planned spring 2025 debut and just hours before the Gucci men’s collection. Clearly, he decided that his 2025 resort collections for women and men needed an early showcase. Michele’s look book, featuring 171 images, shows his deep respect for Valentino’s archives.
Inspired by the house’s history and founder Valentino Garavani, Michele drew from the ’70s and ’80s for his resort collection. The lineup includes skirts, blouses with pleats and ruffles, embroidered minidresses, sequined suits, and garments in shades of white and red, the brand’s signature color. He also incorporated allover patterns and logos, along with accessories like embroidered clutches and crocodile purses.
Michele’s identity is unwavering and distinct, wherever he goes. His signature style, rooted in his passion for cinema, poetry, music, and history, underscores his authenticity. This genuine self-expression is undoubtedly why he has achieved his current success. Michele honors the heritage of the house in a way that is uniquely his own.
