BIAAF Announces Finalists for its 9th International Fashion Design Contest

Dear Shaded Viewers,

After a rigorous selection process, 30 young designers have emerged as finalists in the 9th BIAAF International Fashion Design Contest. This year, the contest attracted 1,409 entries from 91 countries, showcasing a diverse array of talent. The finalists, hailing from 14 different nations including Germany, China, and the United Kingdom, represent a new generation poised to revolutionize the fashion industry.

These designers have trained at some of the world’s leading fashion schools such as Parsons, Central Saint Martins, and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The contest, organized by the non-profit Bilbao International Art & Fashion (BIAAF), aims to support and professionalize emerging fashion talents. The final winners, to be announced on June 25 in Bilbao, will compete in two categories: Garment Design and Accessory Design, each offering a prize of €10,000.

BIAAF’s mission extends beyond this biannual competition. It fosters continuous development for young designers through various initiatives, including partnerships with top fashion institutions and industry experts. This commitment highlights BIAAF’s role in promoting fashion as a cultural and economic asset, fostering innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration from its base in Bilbao.
